Deanna Davis,

LMFT, LPC, ACS, AAMFT-S, SEP

Clinical / Senior Director

  • Deanna is both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. She holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy along with certificates in Trauma Counseling and Spirituality and Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. She has completed the extensive 3 year training process to be a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner,  the Externship and Core Skills trainings in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, and is an Internal Family Systems Informed therapist. She often works with couples where one or both partners have experienced trauma. She has done extended supervision in Internal Family Systems and is trained in EMDR.
  • Deanna serves as Adjunct Faculty at Richmont Graduate University and is the Director for Intern Experience at the Richmont Trauma Center. Before coming to RTC, she worked at a psychiatric hospital where she led education and process groups on trauma recovery, emotional/relational health skills, and offered family therapy.

  • In addition to her counseling work, she is credentialed as an Approved Clinical Supervisor and and AAFMT Approved Supervisor. She offers clinical supervision to counseling students and counselors in their education and licensure journey as both LPCs and LMFTs. It is a passion of hers to help train future and developing clinicians to be skilled, trauma-informed therapists who are able to help alleviate suffering in the world. Deanna is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, The Licensed Professional Counselors of Georgia, and The Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.

Deanna Davis

Deanna serves as the Clinical and Senior Director of the Richmont Trauma Center, where her primary work remains rooted in her calling as a trauma therapist. With over 30 years of leadership in nonprofit, ministry, and mental health settings, Deanna brings a depth of experience in building emotionally healthy teams, developing trauma-informed clinicians, and creating strategic partnerships that extend care to underserved communities. She is a seasoned supervisor and educator with advanced training in somatic, systems, and attachment-based trauma therapy, and is passionate about cultivating a center where both clients and clinicians can heal and grow. Her leadership is marked by relational warmth, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to alleviating the suffering caused by trauma.

Sue Foster

LPC, CPCS, EdS

As Assistant Director of the Richmont Trauma Center, Sue provides clinical supervision and support to student interns and Associate Professional Counselors on staff. Sue is a seasoned professional who has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1994, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor since 2019. Sue’s style of supervision is one of mentoring and encouraging.

Dr. Laura R. Land

LPC, CPCS, PhD, NCC

is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, and Associate Professor whose leadership in the counseling profession is marked by a commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, and counselor development. With over two decades of clinical experience across diverse systems—including hospitals, judicial settings, university counseling centers, and community clinics—Dr. Land brings an integrative counseling approach rooted in psychodynamic systems and evidence-based interventions. Her clinical specialties include complex trauma, PTSD, addictions, grief, adjustment, and relational dynamics, with an integrative counseling approach rooted in psychodynamic systems and evidence-based interventions.

Her leadership in supervision is rooted in relational psychodynamic and developmental models, where she nurtures emerging counselors through experiential supervision, attention to counselor identity, and a deeply trauma-informed lens. She has served as director of university-based counseling clinics, mentored postgraduate supervisees in trauma-focused settings, and contributed to the development of national trauma competencies through the American Counseling Association.

As a counselor educator and researcher, Dr. Land is a recognized voice in trauma pedagogy and counselor training. Her scholarship reflects a strong advocacy for the integration of cultural, relational, and biomedical frameworks in preparing counselors-in-training to address trauma-exposed populations. She has led numerous qualitative and quantitative studies, secured institutional grants, and fostered student-led research initiatives that bridge theory and practice. Her teaching across CACREP-accredited programs spans psychodynamic theory, human development, trauma and theodicy, addictions, and multicultural counseling—underscoring her commitment to holistic and developmentally attuned counselor education.

Whether through her clinical leadership at the Richmont Trauma Counseling Center, her national service roles, or her supervision of future clinicians, Dr. Land embodies a counselor-leader identity grounded in service, scholarship, and transformative care. She continues to advocate for systems of supervision, education, and practice that promote ethical excellence, reflective practice, and a resilient professional community.

Across every setting—clinical, supervisory, or academic—Dr. Land integrates compassion, rigor, and a deep respect for the resilience of the human spirit. She welcomes clients who are seeking support through life’s seasons and is honored to walk alongside them on their path toward healing.

Emma Rowell

M.A., B.A., APC, AMFT

is the Administrator at the Richmont Trauma Center (RTC). As a licensed Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in Georgia, she combines her clinical expertise with her administrative role, supporting the center’s operations, while ensuring high standards of care for clients. Her responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day activities, overseeing scheduling, client intake, and community partnerships. Additionally, Emma assists in fostering a collaborative environment among the counselors at RTC, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and helping to enhance the center’s mission of providing compassionate and effective trauma-informed care to individuals, couples, and families.
