He is committed to advancing the mission of these organizations, which focus on strengthening and equipping under-resourced families who have faced or are currently experiencing homelessness, facilitating their journey toward holistic restoration. At Boyce L. Ansley School, Eric enhances the students’ well-being by providing play therapy and psycho-educational groups for parents, working alongside trauma-informed interns. At Restoration Atlanta, he leads social-emotional learning groups for students and offers vital support to staff by educating them on trauma-informed practices and co-regulating strategies. Eric’s work exemplifies the profound impact of compassionate engagement and community support in fostering resilience and healing.
About Eric
Eric believes that the therapy room is a sacred place for each person to learn, process and grow at their own pace. Most of his work is centered around children using non-directive play therapy, but he has a heart for all individuals or families seeking help through anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, post traumatic stress disorder, and their racial identity. He is eager to walk alongside anyone in the trenches and give them a safe space to process through the things that may be too heavy to hold alone. Eric has been working with kids for a number of years via youth ministries, gifted programs on college campuses and volunteer work at schools. He serves at our partner sites, Crossroad Community Ministries and Boyce L. Ansley School on Mondays and Wednesdays. He operates from a person-centered psychotherapy lens, and integrates approaches such as Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (DBT). He graduated from Richmont Graduate University with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with specializations in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as Child and Adolescent Counseling in May of 2022.
