Connect with Anna Scott

Clinical Mental Health Counselor

I work with individuals and couples who are navigating complex trauma, grief, life transitions, and disabilities of all kinds—often after years of carrying stories that were never fully seen or understood. Many of the people I work with identify as “religious dones” or are questioning faith and thoughtfully deconstructing long-held belief systems. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship and a belief in the restoration of the whole person. I bring a steady, collaborative presence to the work, and when helpful, a gently directive approach grounded in curiosity, wisdom, and care. Together, we slow down and uncover your authentic self as the foundation for meaningful, lasting change.

In our work together, you are invited to show up exactly as you are—without needing to perform, explain, or hide. Carrying shame, distrust, or unspoken pain can feel like bearing an invisible weight, one that quietly shapes how we think, feel, and relate to others. My own life experiences have taught me the importance of patience, deep compassion, and the healing power of being truly heard. Specializing in trauma-informed grief work, I help individuals and couples gently process past pain while learning how to feel safer, more grounded, and more connected in the present.

I offer in-person therapy and virtual (after some in-person) for individuals and couples Monday through Friday, with some evening appointments available.

Education and Training

I am an Associate Licensed Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Georgia State University. My background in both clinical mental health and clinical rehabilitation informs a holistic, trauma-informed approach rooted in trust, collaboration, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I integrate Emotional Focused Therapy and parts-based therapy to help clients build connection, process grief in its many forms, improve communication, and develop practical tools that support emotional safety and resilience.

About Anna

As an “old soul” and a clinician with lived experience, I bring steadiness, perspective, and hope to the therapeutic space. I hold a deep belief that restoration and healing are possible at any stage of life. Outside of my work at Richmont Trauma Center, you’ll often find me outdoors, tending a garden, or preparing meals from the garden to share with friends and family. I value meaningful connection and community—especially when it happens slowly and honestly.
