Clinical / Senior Director
- Deanna is both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. She holds a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy along with certificates in Trauma Counseling and Spirituality and Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. She has completed the extensive 3 year training process to be a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, the Externship and Core Skills trainings in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, and is an Internal Family Systems Informed therapist. She often works with couples where one or both partners have experienced trauma. She has done extended supervision in Internal Family Systems and is trained in EMDR.
- Deanna serves as Adjunct Faculty at Richmont Graduate University and is the Director for Intern Experience at the Richmont Trauma Center. Before coming to RTC, she worked at a psychiatric hospital where she led education and process groups on trauma recovery, emotional/relational health skills, and offered family therapy.
- In addition to her counseling work, she is credentialed as an Approved Clinical Supervisor and and AAFMT Approved Supervisor. She offers clinical supervision to counseling students and counselors in their education and licensure journey as both LPCs and LMFTs. It is a passion of hers to help train future and developing clinicians to be skilled, trauma-informed therapists who are able to help alleviate suffering in the world. Deanna is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, The Licensed Professional Counselors of Georgia, and The Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.
