EDUCATION AND TRAINING


Emily is a trauma-informed clinical intern completing a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. Drawing from her undergraduate studies in Organizational Communications at Middle Tenseness State University, Emily has enjoyed studying how individual relationships interact to form a greater whole.

 


Emily is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1), is a certified Prepare and Enrich Facilitator, and has completed Externship training in Emotional Focused Couples Therapy. She has taken additional master level classes with Adam Young and Dan Allender in narrative trauma work as well as Biblical Counseling classes through the Christian Counseling Education and Foundation.

About Emily

Emily's first career in ministry and non-profit work offered her a diverse array of roles, from counselor to teacher, supervisor to assessor, communicator to administrator. However, it was the moments spent sitting across from others, listening to their stories, that truly resonated with her. She finds connecting with

others, in both joy and pain, one of life's greatest gifts. Motivated by a sincere desire to assist others with wisdom and purpose, Emily embarked on her journey back to graduate school. In addition to the role of student, she also finds joy in her role as a wife and mother.
