Change begins  with caring for your mental health.

Individual counseling is when a person works one-on-one with a mental health therapist. It allows the individual to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors. In general, individual therapy aims to talk through mental health issues. Likewise, it can help the client heal. As a result, the individual will move toward a more productive and healthy life.

Contact a Richmont Trauma Therapist today! We can help guide any individual to overcome or heal their mental health issues.

What is individual Therapy?

Individual therapy covers more sensitive topics and personal feelings in a session. Individuals speak about their sexual addiction when they feel it's a safe environment. How the individual feels inside a therapy session will affect productivity. For example, how an individual progresses or newly discovered insights.

Sessions will generally last between 45 and 50 minutes. Yet, the frequency and duration of the therapy sessions will depend on your needs.

Individual counseling is more flexible. A therapist can focus on isolated issues as they see fit. Their goal is to help you move forward and progress towards healing. As a result, it is easier to tailor treatment plans using this approach.

TRULY

DISCOVER

YOURSELF

Individual therapy allows the therapist and client to focus on each other, building a rapport and working together to solve the client's issue. As a result, many clients rediscover their strength and confidence to overcome and heal from a variety of issues.

Does individual therapy treat betrayal trauma?

Is your world always feeling it's turned upside down? As a result, does overwhelming frustration now dominate your thoughts and feelings? If so, you may be experiencing betrayal trauma.

Betrayal trauma occurs when discovering a partner is indulging in sexual activities outside a relationship. Often, it leaves a person hurt and unable to overcome the pain of emotional or physical cheating. Likewise, threaten the stability of their relationship. Unresolved betrayal trauma can lead to a person experiencing uncontrollable emotions. For example, a person may feel shocked, anger, fear, and hopelessness throughout the day.

It's not uncommon for betrayal trauma to lead to depression, anxiety, or physical symptoms. An individual can overcome on their own. Likewise, if individuals have trouble processing traumatic events, extra support is required.

Today, many people struggle to find out where to begin by healing from trauma. Not knowing where to turn is always the primary reason why there is a delay in searching for help. As a result, individuals choose to live with the physical symptoms for years. When you decide it's time to make a change, Richmont Trauma Center is here to help.

Individual Therapy Is MORE Than What You May Think

Individual therapy is NOT just about sitting down with someone who's trained to help struggling people feel better.

Therapists are trained to help their clients explore thoughts, feelings, habits, and experiences. As a result, many individuals gain a better understanding about themselves.

How can individual therapy help relationships?

At Richmont Trauma Center, we believe individual therapy should be part of any relationship counseling plan. Couples need to learn how to communicate openly. Especially towards any negative thoughts or emotions, they're feeling in the relationship. As well as any concerns about a person's risky sexual behaviors too.

If necessary, individual therapy is an excellent tool in relationship counseling. For example, a therapist may identify unhealthy behavior patterns in their relationship. As a result, addressing an individual's traumatic past experiences may help the problem in a relationship. Keep in mind, individual treatments in relationship therapy are about making meaningful changes, not playing referee.
