Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counseling

The  Trauma Counseling Certificate is graduate-level coursework offered through Richmont Graduate University.  This certificate is designed to provide specialized training for those students who wish to work with individuals who have experienced trauma.  To be eligible for this program, students must be enrolled in a counseling or therapy graduate program or be a licensed professional.  Courses are taught by trauma specialists from throughout the United States.  Classes are offered in person at the Atlanta or Chattanooga campuses of Richmont Graduate University.

  • Adult Trauma Intervention

  • Child Trauma Intervention

Graduate Students

Richmont students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health program may add the Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counseling as part of their program of study.

Students or graduates of licensure eligible counseling or therapy programs may pursue the Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counseling as a non-degree seeking student.  To apply, complete the non-degree seeking student application.

Cost is based on current tuition ($665 per credit hour).  Each course is two credit hours.

Licensed Professionals

Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psychologists have two options for taking the Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counseling.

Option 1

Enroll as a non-degree seeking student at Richmont and take courses for academic credit.  Each course is two credit hours (current tuition is $665 per credit hour).

Option 2

Take the Trauma Courses as Continuing Education and receive CE credit.  Cost is $325 per course.  To register, visit: richmont.edu/events
