Counseling Intern
I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I believe deeply in each person’s capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change. As a graduate student intern, I take a holistic approach to wellness, collaborating with clients as the best path to healing for them. My goal is to remain curious and humble, while continuing my own journey toward growth.
I take a person-centered approach to counseling, often using Narrative Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while incorporating psychodynamic and attachment theories. I would love to customize your session based on your unique needs. I am committed to evidence-informed practice and strive to help clients build insight, develop skills, and deepen their connection with themselves and others.
Education and Training
I received an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a focus in Christian Counseling from Liberty University and am pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University. My degree is to be completed in May 2027, with hopes to pursue a specialization in Trauma. I have attained a certificate in Christian Sex Therapy from Richmont University and Gottman Level 1 couples therapy. I have also attended various trainings on working with complex trauma.

About Shaun
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, and empowering others to get outside for reconnection and reset. Experiencing different cultures through food, music, and community traditions has shaped my holistic understanding of wellness and informs my respect for each person’s cultural identity and lived experience. I have had the pleasure of being a homeschool teacher for seventeen years and married for twenty-three. I look forward to holding space for you as you share your story with me.
