Counseling Intern
I come alongside people who are longing for a safe place to grow, heal, and better understand themselves. I work with those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or a little disconnected from themselves and their lives. You may not even know exactly what’s wrong, just that something isn’t quite right. I believe we are shaped in relationship and that counseling can be a place for deep, meaningful growth as we walk toward a more abundant life. I offer a steady, calm, and caring presence, and I genuinely partner with those I meet.
I work with individuals who are navigating things like anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, or a desire to become the best version of themselves. I am especially drawn to working with people who want to better understand who they are and what their place in the world is. I also enjoy helping people become more aware their patterns so their relationships can flourish.
My approach is relational, curious, collaborative, and compassionate. I won’t rush to “fix” you, instead, we’ll take the time to understand you and the patterns in your life, your relationships, and your experiences. As self-understanding grows and those patterns become clearer, change can happen in a more meaningful and lasting way.
I believe that none of us exists on an island. Our relationships, families, and communities all shape us, so we’ll make space to explore that, too.
My own journey of self-discovery has benefited me in more ways than I can count. While it doesn’t mean that everything is easy, it has helped me live a more intentional and joyful life. My heart’s desire is to help others grow in self-awareness and experience their own growth and sense of meaning.
In therapy, I value honesty, compassion, warmth, and real connection. I want you to feel like you can show up as you are, without having everything (or anything) figured out. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel seen, understood, and able to start making sense of your story and living more abundantly.
Education and Training
I am currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Richmont Graduate University. I am working as an intern under supervision. My work is primarily influenced by psychodynamic, person-centered, and relational approaches. I help clients find a deeper understanding of the “why” behind thoughts, feelings, and patterns.
About Jennifer
In my free time, I love being outside (especially in places where mountains, water, and forests meet), being around animals, reading good books, taking long walks, and enjoying great food with friends and family.
